Bramley Parish Council – March 2010 – Jane Payne

Speeding traffic was a significant theme for the March agenda when the outcome from the recent HCC Highways Feasibility Study, Wheelie bin ‘speed limit’ stickers, and ‘Turn off your engine’ signs for the level crossing were all discussed. Councillors are waiting for the analysis of villagers feedback from the Highways event, Councillor Alan Douglas was disappointed that there were no improvements outlined for the west of the village whilst Councillor Jane Payne felt that simply addressing today’s problems was too limited an approach. At his last meeting as a Parish Councillor, Councillor Rhydian Vaughan persuaded Councillors that budget should be found for wheelie bin stickers for each house along the Bramley Rd (C32). Councillor Payne took an action to look at any level crossing signage schemes that could be adapted for use at the Bramley crossing.

The meeting reviewed both the Financial Regulations and the Code of Conduct to ensure that the Parish Council continues to operate in an appropriate manner. At a future meeting the Council will discuss and adopt changes to the way in which grants are awarded to ensure that Bramley groups and organisations take priority.
