Big Lottery Fund *Awards for All (England)

...an award to Bramley

Big Lottery Fund *Awards for All (England) logo

Following an application by Cllr Jane Payne and Clerk Gill Fowler, Awards for All made an award in February 2010 of £5,387 to replace our ageing village notice boards and to install a new board at German Road.

The existing notice boards were old and in a state of disrepair, more accurately beyond repair, and it was only a matter of time before one of them simply fell to pieces.  The Parish Council simply didn’t have the amount of money necessary to replace the boards and, while there are many organisations that could be approached for a grant, it was with the help of Basingstoke Voluntary Services that the application to the Big Lottery Fund was made.

It was quite a challenge to write an application which made this project sound exciting and vital to the community but, after a few hiccups in the process, our award was made and the boards have now been installed.  They are made from a material that will hopefully require minimal maintenance and provide additional space for all those wishing to publicise their organisations.
